A higher initial outlay, because its maintenance costs will remain low, so if you want a luxury car but that is cheap to maintain it can be an option; if we find it second-hand or pre-owned, the initial outlay will be lower, so it may be better suited to the budget. It is ideal for families due to its spaciousness and sliding rear seats, with an uncluttered design that appeals to a wide age range.

Its 150 hp 1.5 petrol engine offers enough power for all situations with fuel consumption that shouldn't exceed 5.6 litres/100 km officially, diesel engines are also available for those who do a lot of kilometres per year. If you prefer electric power, there are options with electric motors.

The interior is large with good quality finishes and a modern design, with an overall feel of good materials. The boot has a capacity of up to 530 litres, although this is a variable size thanks to the sliding rear seats. Standard equipment ranges from driving aids to digital instrumentation, emergency call and rear camera.

New pricing starts at 35,000 euros and competition could be the BMW X1, Mercedes GLA or Volvo XC40.

Audi Q5

The Audi Q5 is a family car with a refined interior that is comfortable to drive over long distances; it's big and heavy but feels agile behind the wheel.

The Audi Q5 aims to rival the Mercedes GLC or BMW X3 and is priced from around 49,000 euros new, so if we can find it second hand we can save a few euros. For just over 30,000 euros we should be able to get a second-hand Audi Q5 with a couple of years and less than 25,000 kilometres; pre-owned it can start at around 40,000.
